printf("Hello World"); — Why Does This Blog Exist?

Every embedded developer's career starts by blinking an LED. Mine did too; today I write firmware for smart water meters that are expected to run on a battery for 10 years.

Here is what I plan to share on this blog:

• Low power — hunting microamps, sleep modes, real measurements from the field
• Connectivity — adventures with Sigfox, NB-IoT, BLE and talking to modems over AT commands
• STM32 tips — register-level work, the things HAL doesn't tell you
• Field stories — lessons that aren't in the datasheet, only learned in the field

The datasheet tells you what the device is supposed to do. The field shows you what it actually does.
